Example Information:
In a marathon, 9½ hour session on February 11, 1963, and released on March 22, "Please Please Me" was The Beatles' first album released on Parlophone Records. Augmented with the four songs comprising their first two singles, one of which was the title track, the fourteen-song album ascended to the top of the British album chart on May 4 on its way to establishing a still unbroken record as the #1 album for 30 weeks! This copy of the album was signed on the back cover by The Beatles and their manager Brian Epstein on November 18, 1963, at a luncheon reception held in their honor at EMI in London; the group receiving several silver disc sales awards, including one for "Please Please Me" at the event. All five of their signatures are beautifully executed in blue ballpoint pen on the back cover of the album jacket. This is only the second LP ever to have surfaced signed by both The Beatles and Brian Epstein. In fact, there are very few items of any kind that have been signed by both The Beatles and Brian Epstein. Even though Brain was present for many instances of The Beatles signing things for fans, few ever thought to ask him to add his signature Authentic Beatles signed album covers are extremely rare, with very few surfacing in any given year. Additionally, this first pressing mono version of the album with gold-colored printing is quite scarce. The album jacket itself exhibits typical border and corner wear. The signed album is beautifully framed to 20" x 30" with the mono gold label disc and additional mono album jacket featuring the famous image of The Beatles taken by Angus McBean in a stairwell at EMI House in London's Manchester Square. PLEASE NOTE: Accompanying this remarkable rarity are Letters of Authenticity from Beatles expert Perry Cox, Beatles autograph expert Paul Wane of Tracks and Beatles autograph expert Frank Caiazzo.
