John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison have signed in red ballpoint pen, Ringo Starr has signed in blue ballpoint pen adding the inscription ‘To Dave Best Wishes from the Beatles’ below his name. The autographs were obtained after The Beatles at Queens Hall, Widnes, England on 22nd October 1963. The signatures come with a letter from David Preece, the original recipient of the autographs that reads ‘22nd October 1963 The Beatles appeared at The Queens Hall, Widnes. It was the first of a series of five concerts at the hall, and came within the same week as the release of the first Beatles single record “Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You” At that time I was a drummer in a Widnes band called The Cheetahs, and I went along to see the concert. A good friend of mine, Cliff Hayes, who was a reporter for the Liverpool Echo at the time was involved in the organisation at the concert, and took my photograph into the Beatles dressing room, and got the bands autographs. The photograph shows me at the drums at The Queens Hall, (where we appeared on many occasions), but not on the same night as The Beatles’. The photograph measures 3.25" by 5.25". There is a small tear at the top of the photograph. The condition is Very Good. This item will be accompanied by 2 Letters of Authenticity (LOA) from both Frank Caiazzo of The Beatles Autographs and Tracks UK from England.
